Despite rumors that Alabama head coach Nick Saban is considering a return to the NFL, one of his star pupils, Cleveland Browns running back Trent Richardson thinks he's staying put with the Crimson Tide.
“I can’t see him coming to the NFL,” Richardson said, via Tom Reed of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer,. “I can see him staying at Alabama and retiring at Alabama. That’s what I can see.”
Saban's last foray into the NFL ended in disaster when he abandoned the Miami Dolphins, where he was head coach from 2005-2006. After it surfaced that he might become the next Alabama head coach, he stated emphatically, "I will not be the next Alabama coach". Then he took the job, stiffing Miami and the NFL while taking a huge hit on his credibility.
“The way he plans his game and the way they plan games is at the highest level at their level,” Trent said. “So why would you change for that?"
"The way he lives his lifestyle down there, the way he loves football, he loves the intensity of football and every game counts because one game, you might just be out.”
