It’s been his kryptonite since coming into the NFL in 2011 and Stevan Ridley knows if he doesn’t get a handle on it soon, he’s be watching from the sidelines down the stretch.
Ridley has 3 fumbles in his last two games and in a close game last night; it cost the Patriots big time. Ridley was inactive for the 2011 playoffs because of fumble problems and it seems he revisiting old habits.
You can forget being a 1,000 yard rusher, Bill Belichick wants ball security, and if he doesn’t get it from Ridley, he’ll find someone else.
"We played a good football team and you can’t beat a good football team playing like we did today, all the way around starting with me," Ridley said.
"You can’t have balls on the ground. You can’t have turnovers. You can’t give them opportunities to go down there and capitalize and that is exactly what they did. We just can’t hang our heads. We just have to get back to work," according to Steve Silva of the Boston Globe.
"No one is harder on me than me," Ridley said. "Nobody is more upset when I fumble than Stevan is. For me I just have to keep working. There is lot of football left to be played.
You can’t look back and that’s something we haven’t done all year, wins or losses. We have moved forward. So for me that is just what I have to continue to do. But I have to do better. I have to do better in game situations holding onto the football. We can’t have mistakes like that."
Ridley had 23 yards on 9 carries including his fumble.
