Steelers part ways with Jonathan Scott

The Pittsburgh Steelers have released veteran offensive tackle Jonathan Scott.

Scott, 29, was scheduled to collect $2.2 million this season, so that freed up money might be heading over to Mike Wallace's table to get his attention.

With the re-signing of Max Starks and their draft pick Mike Adams on board, the writing was on the wall for Scott.

The fifth-round pick by the Detroit Lions in the 2006 Draft started 14 games and three playoff games during his two seasons with the Steelers.
