The Steelers have salary cap issues that aren’t going away, and they will lose their top receiver Mike Wallace as well. However, they may be able to land a former 1,000 yard receiver that fits their offense like a glove.
According to Jamison Hensly of ESPN.com, in an attempt to shore up their receiving corps, the Steelers may make a move for freshly released Kansas City receiver Steve Breaston.
Breaston was a mainstay in Haley’s offense for the Cardinals and Chiefs. From 2008 to 2011, Breaston averaged 60 catches before having a dreadful 2012 campaign in Kansas City.
He could serve as a suitable replacement for Mike Wallace, and his versatility is something the Steelers' offense needs. His familiarity with Haley would make for a quick transition, and when he’s at his peak, Breaston is a 1,000 yard receiver.
