The Pittsburgh Steelers do not plan on franchising receiver Mike Wallace and will allow him to enter free agency. According to Jason La Canfora of CBSSportsline.com, the Steelers are unwilling to meet Wallace’s demands in the 10 million to-11 million range.
Wallace will attract a lot of attention on the open market due to his blazing speed and young age.
Wide receiver needy teams will jump to sign Wallace although he had a subpar 2012 campaign, but his upside is still considerable.
The Steelers feel comfortable letting him go after the development of fellow receiver Antonio Brown, and the fact they committed long term to Brown, while never getting a deal done with Wallace.
