Source: Darrelle Revis wants to stay in New York

Although it's not his choice, and even after the whole mess the Jets organization created, cornerback Darrelle Revis would still like to remain a New York Jet in 2013.

Citing unnamed sources close to the star corner, the New York Post reported Thursday morning that Revis does not want to be traded.

"He wants to remain a Jet," the source said, via Steve Berry of Post. "He has never asked to be traded."

It appears that Revis and his reps are trying to let fans, and more importanly, the Jets management, know his heart is still in New York in the wake of Darrelle saying that it would be "awesome" to win a Super Bowl with the San Francisco 49ers on Michael Robinson's web-based show.

The source adds that Revis,

  • loves playing for Ryan, and knows the last thing Ryan wants as a lame duck coach is to lose his best player.
  • loves the New York/New Jersey area and still hopes against hope that Johnson regards him not unlike how owner Fred Wilpon regarded David Wright when he recently made him a Met For Life.
  • loves the Jets fan base — with or without Fireman Ed.
