Seems like the attention from Kurt Warner’s comments after the death of Junior Seau has everyone asking any father connected with the game if they’re ok with their kids playing football. Warner said that the thought of his sons playing football "scares me” on "The Dan Patrick Show".
Merril Hoge was one that tore Warner a new one for the comments, calling them "uneducated" and "uninformed".
At the Jets’ second rookie camp Saturday, Rex Ryan, who’s son Seth, a CB and WR for Summit High School, was posed the question by ESPN:
“"That's part of it," Ryan said. "But, you know, I mean, we are so much further along now."
Seth has already suffered a concussion while the playing game. Rex said he's "proud that my kid plays."
"Obviously, you have concerns when that happens, but it's just one of those things, an unfortunate part of the game," Ryan said. "It does happen occasionally, but I truly think everybody's working to try to get this thing minimized. We've got to protect our players, protect our athletes, without question. I think we've tried to do that with the helmets, with the way the trainers are and everything else"…
"Would I still have my son playing? Absolutely."
