Report: Bruce Arians hired as Cardinals head coach

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network is reporting that the Arizona Cardinals have formally offered Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians their head coaching job, and he has accepted.

Arians' stock skyrocketed as a head coach candidate after he stepped in for the ailing Chuck Pagano and led the team to successful season, going 9-3 under his watch and reaching the wild-card round of the playoffs, just one year after going 2-14 the previous season.

Arians and the Cardinals front office met earlier today, and Bruce said he had a good feeling about the visit.

“I told my agent early, when he was setting up interviews, ‘I’m going to have to have a heck of a feeling about that organization, owner, general manager, team, to leave where I am right now,’” Arians said via the team’s website.

Arizona is the last of 8 NFL teams to fill their head coach opening.
