The Denver Broncos are saying that QB Peyton Manning will get plenty of snaps in tonight’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, as he and the rest of the starters will play the entire first half.
We should get a good glimpse of Manning and how his arm (and neck) holds up for a complete half. Manning made news this week after admitting that his arm is not a strong as it was when he was 22 years old, and curiously saying that he hopes he’ll be able to ‘move the chains’ and get some wins this season.
Many took that, including us, as a way of making excuses for a season that hasn’t even begun. John Elway must have thought the same thing, as he came out and told reporters the exact opposite.
It was hard to a get a gauge on Manning last week; he only took 12 snaps in their preseason opener against the Chicago Bears. After that game, Manning said, "You've got to have a sense of urgency; you want to do your job well and hopefully we can get a few more situations against Seattle and it'll be a good test going against their defense."
It will be a test indeed. The Broncos host the Seattle Seahawks tonight at 9pm.
