T.Y. Hilton, WR, Florida International, 5’10, 185 lbs...
Positives:
T.Y. Hilton is an undersized speedster who could climb into the middle rounds. He's an explosive receiver with shifty quickness and enough burst to run past defenders. He's has the skill set to take bubble screens and other short passes and make the most of them. Think of Hilton as a Wes Welker type, a slot receiver that can play some outside the hash marks but the slot is where he will be most effective. Hilton in open space can be dangerous weapon, but NFL offenses will need to design plays specifically for him. He does well catching the ball away from his body.
Negatives:
He does not have the size to be a downfield threat. His impact as a receiver is limited to possessions after the catch type scenarios, but he can be a difference maker on kick and punt returns. Injuries are going to be a concern given Hilton's slim frame. He isn't physical enough against press coverage, but given his excellent change of direction and speed, he can use his agility to get around defenders rather than taking them on straight on.
