Mike Shanahan is playing it old school with his son Kyle Shanahan, who is a hot name for head coaching vacancies, but don’t expect the Redskins offensive coordinator to be talking to anyone soon.
As names are being bounced around, Kyle’s won’t be one anyone can talk to until the Redskins are out of the playoffs.
We wonder if Kyle wasn’t Mike’s son, would he interview anyway? But dad is putting his foot down.
"You've got a job to do, and you should do that first," Mike Shanahan said.
"After the season is over, if somebody wants to interview him or something along those lines, I think its great opportunities for assistant coaches to interview for head-coaching jobs," according to Dan Hanzus of NFL.com.
"At least my opinion, at least this is my feeling when I was an assistant, it's not time to interview during the season," Mike Shanahan said, via The Washington Times.
"It's time to concentrate on your job. After the season is over with, I think there's plenty of time for all those things. That's my gut feeling."
