Dirty Sanchez: QB dashes away Jets slim playoff hopes, throws 4 picks

The New York Jets had to win out, and get some help in order them to make the playoffs. They had a great shot at doing that with their last three opponents being the Titans, Chargers and Bills.

That all didn't matter if the lost last night, and that they did, on another QB Mark Sanchez terrible game that basically ended their dismal season. Thank God this possibility didn't drag out for another few weeks.

Head coach Rex Ryan's unwaivering faith in Sanchez could very well be the end of the loud-mouthed coach's time in New York. Mark threw four picks, going 13/28 for 131 YDS, 1 TD and was sacked three times.

Fittingly, when the Titans almost gave the game away following a terrible punt that sailed out of bounds, giving the Jets great field position to score a TD, Sanchez lost a fumble during the snap that sealed their fate.

Newly acquired receiver Braylon Edwards made a little bit of an impact, helping the team on their way to a first quarter TD, but that was prety much it. The bumbling Jets with Sanchez under center simply couldn't get anything done. What may be a even bigger concern than the QB situation is the woeful play of their offensive line, basically a veteran group that someone managed to look like they have no experience at all.

On the other side, Titans RB Chris Johnson had a good game, rushing for 122 yards on 21 carries, most of it came with a huge 94 yard run that was longest touchdown run in the NFL since 2006.
