Cry me a river: Dolphins felt "disrespected" by Patriots playcalling?

We had to re-read this news after the initial head scratching. Apparently, some Miami Dolphins players complained that the Patriots disrespected them by running the same play over and over again with success in their meeting last Sunday. Really.

A Patriots' fourth quarter clock-killing drive consisted of 16 plays, 13 of them running plays, with 6 of them through the same hole... that the Dolphins defense couldn't stop.

So basically we have a few Dolphins (and grown men mind you) crying "hey, stop doing that, we can't stop you, quit it, no fair".

We're surprised someone didn't take the game ball and go home.

DT Tony McDaniel said “It really [ticked] me off... It was disrespectful to us to run the same play over and over and be successful", he said, via Brian Briggane of the Palm Beach Post. (H/T PFT) “Normally when somebody’s driving down the field you just think, ‘Well, they just had a good run there,’ but you run the same play over and over, as a competitor that [ticks] me off.”

Embarrassing to say the least. I would've went the 'anonymous player' route on that quote.

“It is disrespectful, but you’ve got to stop it,” Randy Starks said, who's the guy with maybe half of a voice of reason here. “We never stopped it, so I’d keep running the same play, too.”

Exactly. You don't like it, then stop it.
