Ron Bartell signed a 1-year deal with the Raiders in the off-season after he was cut by the Rams.
He spent seven years in St. Louis. He played in only 1 game in 2011 because of a neck injury and then suffered a broken shoulder blade in the first game in 2012 and landing him on injured reserve with the designation to return. He missed 7 games, however, he started the last five for Oakland.
Oakland is starting to clean house again in anticipation for either a new coach or influx of new players.
According to Bill Williamson of ESPN, the Raiders are evaluating players and trying to give promising young players' valuable playing time for the rest of the season.
