Word is coming in from the Davie, FL Police that Miami Dolphins WR Chad (Ochocinco) Johnson has been arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery, according to the Miami Herald.
The incident occurred at the Johnson residence Saturday evening, where an argument started and escalated.
Johnson’s wife, Evelyn, a star in the TV reality show “Basketball Wives” reported the two had an argument while driving into their driveway, when she said Johnson head butted her, while Johnson said they bumped heads. Johnson’s wife was taken to the hospital with a laceration on her forehead
Johnson will remain in custody until he sees a judge.
The next question is,with the HBO’s “Hard Knocks” TV show being filmed during Dolphins pre-season camp, will straight laced Head Coach Joe Philbin allow this distraction to disrupt camp. The ratings should be outstanding while audiences wait for the next episode, but the bigger questions will be what the coach and the team do.
Johnson had no catches in the first pre-season game and only one target in their loss to Tampa in Miami Friday night.
Is Chad’s skills, which were never on display last season in New England, and still questionable in Miami, we worth the commotion in Miami?
We will know who makes the decision on this. Philbin would be wise to end this now, but if Chad stays, Dolphins owner Stephen Ross will be the one making the decision.
This should be decided in the next couple of days.
