Bears looking at Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell

The Chicago Bears are seeking permission to interview the Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell for their vacant head coaching position, according to a league source and Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times.

According to league rules, assistant coaches for teams that won playoff games over the weekend can be interviewed this week, but teams have to grant permission, and the Bears must travel to Seattle to meet with Bevell.

Looks like having your name attached to Russell Wilson is a good thing for Bevell this year. He was on no one's radar before, despite having been offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings from 2006-10, where he coached Brett Favre.

Bevell is also a former Wisconsin Badger quarterback, just like Wilson.

If they're granted permission, this will be the 4th candiate they've interviewed since letting Lovie Smith go. They've already interviewed Atlanta Falcons special teams coach Keith Armstrong,Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan, New Orleans offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. and Dallas Cowboys special teams coordinator Joe DeCamillis.
