Asante Samuel says Falcons do not deserve respect until they earn it

Asante Samuel is one of two Falcons who have a Super Bowl ring, and he knows that coming in second is for nice guys. Samuel was the starting cornerback on the 2004 New England Patriots' championship team and he knows what it takes to get to the big game.

However, he also was a member of the 2007, 18-1 Patriots team that lost their last game, in the Super Bowl.

18 wins mean nothing if there isn’t a ring attached to it, and after all the hard work of getting to 18-0, the one loss ruined everything.

"Keep questioning," Samuel told the Detroit News via Marc Sessler of NFL.com. "We love to go out there and play with a chip on our shoulder. Don't give us the respect until it's all said and done and we've earned it. We got our hard hats on and that's what we plan on doing."
