Alfonzo Dennard found guilty, faces lengthy prison term

Lori Pilger of the Lincoln Journal Star reports Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has been found guilty and could face a lengthy prison term.

Dennard, who was convicted of assaulting an officer, faces up to 6 years in prison. The young cornerback got into an altercation in 2012 a week before the NFL Draft. He was at a Lincoln bar when he got into a fight with another man.

When the police got involved, Dennard punched the officer in the jaw.

In addition to the felony assault charge, he also was convicted on a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest, but acquitted of the misdemeanor charge of assaulting another man. He will be sentenced April 11th.
