60 Max Coffin Corner: Fat Albert Lamesworth Limps Out of Town

They say March comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb. Well, Albert Haynesworth would probably love to eat the lamb and the lion as well. They said it was a low risk / high reward venture, so was Freddie Mac stock. How’s that working out?

Sometimes you have to call them as you see them, and the Patriots did the right thing by trying out Hayneswort, and then cutting him when it didn’t work out. Haynesworth came to town via a trade with the Washington Redskins for a 5th round pick in the 2012 draft. He took forever to be able to practice for an entire session, He cramped up in cold weather, and he couldn’t get off a block to save his life. The sad thing is we will never know if his skills have diminished or if he flat out dogged it. Bill Belichick stated, “He just could do the things we asked him to do”. You mean make an effort Bill?

The Patriots saw enough when Haynesworth was single blocked on a Brandon Jacobs TD run that looked so bad, Pepper Johnson lost a gasket. However, before that, there were a series of plays that demonstrated his lack of effort, cumulating in the Jacobs run.

As coaches do, Johnson ripped Haynesworth and Fat Albert retorted, resulting in Belichick having to step in. When Belichick intervenes, there are consequences to be paid. Haynesworth was all but cut from that very moment.

There is a lot of speculation that Ochocinco is next, but that is unfair. He’s actually trying to get it, unlike Haynesworth, who thought playing football is like his personal life - he can do what he wants, even if it’s rubbing someone the wrong way (literally).

The Patriots took a chance on Haynesworth. He repaid them with monopoly money and grabbed the get out of jail card on the way. Haynesworth didn’t want to play football, he wanted to con another team and it worked. Good luck Raheem Morris and the Tampa Bay Bucs… If fat boy cramps in cool weather, he’s going to die in the Florida heat liked a beached Manatee. Maybe it will be good for him to sweat; he hardly did up here in New England.

Where are all the people that said they got him for a steal and that he'd be in the pro-bowl? Ha ha ha. Bill can fix him, yeh right! Once a scum bag always a scum bag fortunately Tampa is his last stop, once he fails there no one will want him.
