“It was a good call by the ref," Dashon Goldson says after $10K fine

Wow, that's honest for ya. San Francisco 49ers safety Dashon Goldson learned today that he's been fined by the league for his helmet-to-helmet hit on DuJuan Harris in last weekend's game against the Packers.

Quite a refreshing response from an NFL player who insists he's not one of those dirty players. He has 5 unnecessary roughness penalties this season.

“It was a good call by the ref,” Goldson said via San Jose Mercury News. “If it was helmet-to-helmet, good call. But it wasn’t late.”

“I just play football, at the end of the day,” he added. “I don’t try to hurt anybody.”

Dashon, having been franchised last year, will be a free agent after this season if he's not re-signed. He made his second straight Pro Bowl this year and also Associated Press All-Pro First Team honors this season.
