Jim Irsay and the Indianapolis Colts have confirmed via Twitter that the Robert Griffin III's camp has declined a request for a private workout. Griffin's agent formally turned down the request, and while Griffin himself didn't do the talking, the writing is on the wall.
By not working out for the Colts, it ensures Griffin will be selected by the Washington Redskins with the second overall pick. However, by saying no, the Griffin camp has shown that they will call their own shots and that Washington is where Griffin will end up.
Rumors that Indianapolis was interested in working out the rising stock surfaced late last week, and now that option is out the window. Here is what Irsay tweeted:
@JimIrsay "A Luck private workout 2day..we want 2b as thorough n disciplined n process of #1 pick..we wanted 2do private with RG3, but his agent said no".
Must be nice to say no, but could this be the start of a prima donna in motion? Working out for NFL clubs are the norm, and if Indianapolis was serious about drafting him, they sure aren't now.
The RG3 camp looks like they can be a handful to deal with and contract negotiations should be great entertainment.
Andrew Luck is the clear number one quarterback in the draft and will go no# 1, but will the RG3 camp demand to be paid equally as the number one overall pick?
They are already making power moves by denying the Colts, so anything is possible.
